Composite Portraits

Some ideas need a little extra boost to take them from imagination to images.

That’s where composite work and photoshop can help make the impossible possible…

Immersed in her own Harry Potter adventure, this Hufflepuff showed off her house spirit for a magical day of of witchcraft and wizardry!

Not only can art imitate life - but art can also imitate art, and that can make for wonderfully artistic portraits.

This group did an interpretation of the implausible revelry from Todd White’s quirky artwork “Welcome to the Pour House.” There are roughly 20 photos composited together to make some of those rather…unusual movements.

Stories may be told in a single image. Sometimes, however, it is told in multiple, as in this ethereal adventure…

The general technique imposes a deliberately blurred image over a sharp one and drawing out just the right detailing to achieve an insubstantial illusion.

This series combines music, art, and storytelling, as well as multiple layers of photographs.

Inspired by Delta Rae’s hauntingly beautiful “The Dream,” each image visualizes a line from the song.

Alice in Wonderland…is there a more imaginative inspiration for whimsy? There are so many eccentric characters to choose from, making it is especially well suited for group photos. With a wave of the compositing wand, we even chummed up Tweedle Dee with Tweedle Dum.

This session combined a little bit of a colour into a bit of a darker mood, but it was still a wunderfully frabjous adventure!
